I liked my peers in the class and really enjoyed the group discussions and dynamic that this class brought. I really like how I am given the rare opportunity to learn from each of my peers own teaching styles. As future educators everyone in this class had something new and unique to bring to the discussions that was very intriguing. I felt privileged to learn from all of their perspectives on their content areas.
On that note I think I have a very appropriate picture in mind for this occasion.
Look guys it's us!! We have come from totally different content areas and have different ways of viewing things, but we make for one great show.! Thanks everybody!! :)
I appreciated the interdisciplinary perspectives that others brought, too. If you teach in a school with a middle school philosophy, you will be expected to do interdisciplinary things, so I think it's a good idea to think about cross-curricular connections. For instance, one P.E. teacher talked about using a pedometer and asking student to do a graphical representation charting their walking, or students can write and note changes they do over time.
ReplyDeleteI am working with a personal trainer, and it is extremely gratifying to me to know that I can do 20 push-ups now, whereas before I could only do 10. I think that asking students to produce concrete representations of their growth will be really gratifying to your students as well.
Thanks for your work throughout the semester.
